| CVE-2026-93278 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: octeon: add missing napi_disable in cvm_oct_rx_shutdown cvm_oct_rx_shutdown calls free_irq and netif_napi_del without disabling the napi instance first. As the free_irq only waits for completion of hard interrupt handlers, the napi poll function could still be active. If cvm_oct_remove proceeds to free the plat structure (which holds the NAPI instances), the active poll function will access freed memory, resulting in a use-after-free crash. | ||||

Byte 10 requires at least 11 bytes. Require datalen >= 11 before reading data[10]. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93271 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: cap out-of-range rx MCS instead of leaving bogus rate ath11k can receive HT/VHT/HE frames whose reported MCS is above the maximum that can be expressed in the corresponding mac80211 rate space (e.g. an HE frame reported with MCS 12, while HE tops out at MCS 11). The frame itself is valid and decodes correctly, but for such a frame ath11k_dp_rx_h_rate() leaves rx_status->rate_idx set to the out-of-range value and never assigns rx_status->encoding, so it stays RX_ENC_LEGACY from the ath11k_dp_rx_h_ppdu() initialization. Once that frame reaches mac80211 it trips the rate sanity check and the frame is dropped with a splat: ath11k_pci 0000:03:00.0: Received with invalid mcs in HE mode 12 WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 0 at net/mac80211/rx.c:5433 ieee80211_rx_list+0xb0a/0xe90 [mac80211] Dropping the frame would discard otherwise valid data, so instead cap the reported MCS to the maximum the rate space can express and deliver the frame. Set rx_status->encoding before the range check and assign rate_idx from the capped value, so a frame with an out-of-range MCS no longer leaves partial or bogus rate metadata behind. Also downgrade the logging level since they are not treated as invalid frames now. The only loss is that such a frame is reported as the capped MCS in the rx rate statistics. | CVE-2026-93273 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regulator: tps6594: Fix device node reference leaks in multiphase loop In tps6594_regulator_probe(), the multi-phase configuration loop calls of_find_node_by_name() to find buck nodes by name, and of_get_parent() twice to navigate to the PMIC parent node. None of the acquired node references (np, intermediate parent, np_pmic_parent) are ever released via of_node_put(), causing a reference leak on every loop iteration. Additionally, of_find_node_by_name() can return NULL, but the result was immediately passed to of_node_full_name() and of_get_parent() without a NULL check, which could lead to a NULL pointer dereference. Fix this by: - Adding a NULL check for np after of_find_node_by_name() - Storing the intermediate parent node in a local variable np_parent - Calling of_node_put() on np, np_parent and np_pmic_parent at the end of each loop iteration | ||||
| CVE-2026-97410 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netconsole: take target_cleanup_list_lock in drop_netconsole_target() drop_netconsole_target() unlinks the target while only holding target_list_lock. However, when the underlying interface has been unregistered, netconsole_netdev_event() moves the target from target_list to target_cleanup_list, and netconsole_process_cleanups_core() walks that list under target_cleanup_list_lock only. If a user removes the configfs target at the same time the cleanup worker is iterating target_cleanup_list, list_del() can corrupt the list because the two paths take disjoint locks while operating on the same list node. Acquire target_cleanup_list_lock around the list_del() so the unlink is serialised against netconsole_process_cleanups_core() regardless of which list the target currently belongs to. The state transition that downgrades STATE_DEACTIVATED to STATE_DISABLED is left intact and is performed under the same combined locking, preserving the existing ordering with resume_target(). | ||||

| CVE-2026-97474 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 7.4 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: iwlwifi: mld: purge async notifications upon nic error This fixes a kernel panic in reconfig failure: 1. we have a BSS connection 2. we have a NAN connection 3. FW error occurs 4. reconfig restores the BSS connection 5. however, restoring the NAN connection fails due to a FW error. 6. erroneously, ieee80211_handle_reconfig_failure is called and marks all interfaces as not-in-driver (will be fixed in a different patch). 7. mac80211 frees the links of the BSS connection but doesn't tell the driver about that, as it thinks that this vif is not in the driver. 8. in ieee80211_stop_device, *ALL* wiphy works are getting flushed (erroneously?) 9. Therefore, async_handlers_wk is being executed, processing the statistics notification that was received after we restored the BSS connection. 10. the notification handler dereferences fw_id_to_bss_conf[id], which is now a dangling pointer, as mac80211 already freed this link in (7). 11. On the first access to one of the links fields, we panic. While this can and should be fixed by removing the call to ieee80211_handle_reconfig_failure in (6), it is also not a good idea to carry and maybe handle notifications from a dead FW. We do purge the notifications when we stop the FW, but in reconfig failure we stop the FW too late, after the notifications are processed. In addition, async_handlers_wk can always be scheduled before the reconfig work. Purge the notifications immediately when transport notifies about a nic error. | ||||

| CVE-2026-97423 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cxl/region: Validate partition index before array access construct_region() reads cxled->part and uses it to index cxlds->part[] without checking for a negative value. | CVE-2026-97443 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/ftrace: Fix WARNING in __unregister_ftrace_function perf_ftrace_function_unregister() unconditionally calls unregister_ftrace_function() without checking whether the ftrace_ops was ever successfully registered. This triggers a WARN_ON in __unregister_ftrace_function() when the ops doesn't have FTRACE_OPS_FL_ENABLED set. This can happen during perf_event_alloc() error cleanup when perf_trace_destroy() is called via __free_event() on an event whose ftrace_ops registration failed or was already torn down by perf_try_init_event()'s err_destroy path. The call path is: perf_event_alloc() error cleanup -> __free_event() -> event->destroy() [tp_perf_event_destroy] -> perf_trace_destroy() -> perf_trace_event_close() -> TRACE_REG_PERF_CLOSE -> perf_ftrace_function_unregister() -> unregister_ftrace_function() -> __unregister_ftrace_function() -> WARN_ON(!(ops->flags & FTRACE_OPS_FL_ENABLED)) Fix this by checking FTRACE_OPS_FL_ENABLED before attempting to unregister. If the ops is not enabled, just free the filter and return success. | ||||

| CVE-2026-97511 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: avoid out-of-bounds access in monitor In NAN, we don't know on what band the frame will be sent. Therefore we set info->band to NUM_NL80211_BANDS. However, this leads to out-of-bound access in ieee80211_add_tx_radiotap_header when we try to access the sbands array. Fix it by not accessing the array if the band is NUM_NL80211_BANDS. This means that we will not report rate info for legacy rate in NAN. But nobody really cares about it. | ||||
| CVE-2026-97533 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 7.0 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/mm/pat: Acquire init_mm read lock on attribute changes to avoid UAF A previous commit protected against races between ptdump and CPA collapse, however one still exists between attribute changes and collapse as reported by Denis V. Lunev (linked). When an attribute change arises, a lockless page table walker obtains a PTE entry, which is later written to via set_pte_atomic(): ... -> change_page_attr_set_clr() -> __change_page_attr_set_clr() -> __change_page_attr() -> _lookup_address_cpa() -> lookup_address_in_pgd_attr() -> [ lockless page table walker ] -> set_pte_atomic() There is nothing preventing a concurrent CPA collapse which can free the PTE that was retrieved here, resulting in a use-after-free. With the mmap write lock taken on init_mm over CPA collapse, resolve this race by acquiring an mmap read lock on init_mm over __change_page_attr_set_clr(). This locks across the whole operation over which the walk and the PTE entry write occurs, solving the race. It is safe to do this here, as no spinlocks are held upon entry to __change_page_attr_set_clr(). However, the lock must not be held over an allocation, as allocation can trigger reclaim and shrinkers may call into CPA recursively, making deadlocks possible (init_mm -> ... -> fs_reclaim -> init_mm). A page table is allocated when a huge page needs to be split: -> change_page_attr_set_clr() -> __change_page_attr_set_clr() -> __change_page_attr() -> split_large_page() [ pagetable_alloc() ] -> __split_large_page() Avoid deadlocks by dropping the mmap lock across pagetable_alloc() in split_large_page() and track whether this is needed by adding a new 'init_mm_read_locked' flag to struct cpa_data. This is safe as __split_large_page() (called with locks re-established) revalidates that the page table entry is the same as it was prior to the locks being dropped and __change_page_attr() repeats the entire page table walk whenever a split occurs, so concurrent split and collapse are accounted for. Concurrent ptdump is also safe as the lock is only dropped over page table allocation during which time the page table has not yet been modified. The CPA_COLLAPSE flag is only set by set_memory_rox(), which exclusively operates upon vmalloc ranges, and on x86 only within the module mapping space. This is important, because some callers directly invoke __change_page_attr_set_clr(), bypassing this lock. However, none of these operate within the module mapping space. * cpa_process_alias() - a recursive helper called by __change_page_attr_set_clr(). * __set_memory_enc_pgtable() - operates on the direct mapping and (via __vmbus_establish_gpadl()) the vmalloc mapping space. * __set_pages_[n]p() - called by set_direct_map_[invalid, default, valid]_noflush(), __kernel_map_pages() - operates on the direct map. * kernel_[un]map_pages_in_pgd() - operates on EFI ranges. This work is based upon Denis V. Lunev's excellent analysis of the bug with gratitude. [ dhansen: move to imperative voice in changelog ] | ||||
| CVE-2026-97525 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-01 | 8.2 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/mm/pat: Allocate split page tables as kernel page tables A PTE is allocated directly without going through the standard page table allocation routines (such as pte_alloc_one_kernel()) when the CPA code splits a large page (__split_large_page()). This means the page table constructor is never called nor is the page table marked as a kernel page table. The former results in the folio associated with the page table not being marked as a page table (__pagetable_ctor() is never called thus neither is __folio_set_pgtable()) nor are statistics updated to reflect it (lruvec_stat_add_folio() is never called). The latter issue of failing to mark the page table as a kernel page table (ptdesc_set_kernel() is never called) is far more problematic. Since commit: 5ba2f0a15564 ("mm: introduce deferred freeing for kernel page tables") kernel page table freeing has been batched and since the subsequent commit: e37d5a2d60a3 ("iommu/sva: invalidate stale IOTLB entries for kernel address space") IOTLB cache entries for kernel page tables have been invalidated upon being freed. Since split page tables are freed without this invalidation, the IOTLB can contain stale entries for them. Resolve the issue by using the ordinary PTE allocation API at split time. This results in these kernel page tables invoking a page table constructor, and thus requires a page table destructor. Destructors are not always present, like for early allocated direct map page tables). Conditionally call pagetable_dtor_free() if the PG_table folio flag for the ptdesc is set, otherwise we free the page table via pagetable_free(). Regardless of which path is taken page tables marked as kernel page tables, which now includes split page tables, take the correct route through pagetable_free_kernel(). There is a user-visible side effect in that split page tables will appear in nr_page_table_pages in /proc/vmstat (as do other kernel page tables allocated after early boot), however this is a positive change. This issue started being markedly problematic after commit: 5ba2f0a15564 ("mm: introduce deferred freeing for kernel page tables") so choose this as the Fixes target. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: chips-media: wave5: Fix Reports from Kernel Lock Validator handle_dynamic_resolution change requires that the state_lock be acquired based on the lockdep_assert_held. However, the handle_dynamic_resolution_change call in initialize_sequence does not properly obtain the lock before calling. Since the v4l2_ctrl_find and s_ctrl can sleep, they should not be called while a lock is already held. Store off the fbc_buf_count then properly update control once lock has been freed. | ||||
