| CVE-2024-57952 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 7.1 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Revert "libfs: fix infinite directory reads for offset dir" The current directory offset allocator (based on mtree_alloc_cyclic) stores the next offset value to return in octx->next_offset. This mechanism typically returns values that increase monotonically over time. Eventually, though, the newly allocated offset value wraps back to a low number (say, 2) which is smaller than other already- allocated offset values. Yu Kuai <yukuai3@huawei.com> reports that, after commit 64a7ce76fb90 ("libfs: fix infinite directory reads for offset dir"), if a directory's offset allocator wraps, existing entries are no longer visible via readdir/getdents because offset_readdir() stops listing entries once an entry's offset is larger than octx->next_offset. These entries vanish persistently -- they can be looked up, but will never again appear in readdir(3) output. The reason for this is that the commit treats directory offsets as monotonically increasing integer values rather than opaque cookies, and introduces this comparison: if (dentry2offset(dentry) >= last_index) { On 64-bit platforms, the directory offset value upper bound is 2^63 - 1. Directory offsets will monotonically increase for millions of years without wrapping. On 32-bit platforms, however, LONG_MAX is 2^31 - 1. The allocator can wrap after only a few weeks (at worst). Revert commit 64a7ce76fb90 ("libfs: fix infinite directory reads for offset dir") to prepare for a fix that can work properly on 32-bit systems and might apply to recent LTS kernels where shmem employs the simple_offset mechanism. | ||||
| CVE-2024-57936 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 9.8 Critical |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/bnxt_re: Fix max SGEs for the Work Request Gen P7 supports up to 13 SGEs for now. WQE software structure can hold only 6 now. Since the max send sge is reported as 13, the stack can give requests up to 13 SGEs. This is causing traffic failures and system crashes. Use the define for max SGE supported for variable size. This will work for both static and variable WQEs. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_event: Align BR/EDR JUST_WORKS paring with LE This aligned BR/EDR JUST_WORKS method with LE which since 92516cd97fd4 ("Bluetooth: Always request for user confirmation for Just Works") always request user confirmation with confirm_hint set since the likes of bluetoothd have dedicated policy around JUST_WORKS method (e.g. main.conf:JustWorksRepairing). | CVE-2024-53094 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 9.8 Critical |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/siw: Add sendpage_ok() check to disable MSG_SPLICE_PAGES While running ISER over SIW, the initiator machine encounters a warning from skb_splice_from_iter() indicating that a slab page is being used in send_page. To address this, it is better to add a sendpage_ok() check within the driver itself, and if it returns 0, then MSG_SPLICE_PAGES flag should be disabled before entering the network stack. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: slip: make slhc_remember() more robust against malicious packets syzbot found that slhc_remember() was missing checks against malicious packets [1]. slhc_remember() only checked the size of the packet was at least 20, which is not good enough. We need to make sure the packet includes the IPv4 and TCP header that are supposed to be carried. Add iph and th pointers to make the code more readable. | CVE-2024-49571 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 9.1 Critical |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/smc: check iparea_offset and ipv6_prefixes_cnt when receiving proposal msg When receiving proposal msg in server, the field iparea_offset and the field ipv6_prefixes_cnt in proposal msg are from the remote client and can not be fully trusted. Especially the field iparea_offset, once exceed the max value, there has the chance to access wrong address, and crash may happen. This patch checks iparea_offset and ipv6_prefixes_cnt before using them. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fou: remove warn in gue_gro_receive on unsupported protocol Drop the WARN_ON_ONCE inn gue_gro_receive if the encapsulated type is not known or does not have a GRO handler. Such a packet is easily constructed. Syzbot generates them and sets off this warning. Remove the warning as it is expected and not actionable. The warning was previously reduced from WARN_ON to WARN_ON_ONCE in commit 270136613bf7 ("fou: Do WARN_ON_ONCE in gue_gro_receive for bad proto callbacks"). | ||||
| CVE-2024-42306 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udf: Avoid using corrupted block bitmap buffer When the filesystem block bitmap is corrupted, we detect the corruption while loading the bitmap and fail the allocation with error. However the next allocation from the same bitmap will notice the bitmap buffer is already loaded and tries to allocate from the bitmap with mixed results (depending on the exact nature of the bitmap corruption). Fix the problem by using BH_verified bit to indicate whether the bitmap is valid or not. | ||||

| CVE-2024-41091 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 6 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 3 more | 2026-08-04 | 8.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tun: add missing verification for short frame The cited commit missed to check against the validity of the frame length in the tun_xdp_one() path, which could cause a corrupted skb to be sent downstack. Even before the skb is transmitted, the tun_xdp_one-->eth_type_trans() may access the Ethernet header although it can be less than ETH_HLEN. Once transmitted, this could either cause out-of-bound access beyond the actual length, or confuse the underlayer with incorrect or inconsistent header length in the skb metadata. In the alternative path, tun_get_user() already prohibits short frame which has the length less than Ethernet header size from being transmitted for IFF_TAP. This is to drop any frame shorter than the Ethernet header size just like how tun_get_user() does. CVE: CVE-2024-41091 | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tap: add missing verification for short frame The cited commit missed to check against the validity of the frame length in the tap_get_user_xdp() path, which could cause a corrupted skb to be sent downstack. Even before the skb is transmitted, the tap_get_user_xdp()-->skb_set_network_header() may assume the size is more than ETH_HLEN. Once transmitted, this could either cause out-of-bound access beyond the actual length, or confuse the underlayer with incorrect or inconsistent header length in the skb metadata. In the alternative path, tap_get_user() already prohibits short frame which has the length less than Ethernet header size from being transmitted. This is to drop any frame shorter than the Ethernet header size just like how tap_get_user() does. CVE: CVE-2024-41090 | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ocfs2: strict bound check before memcmp in ocfs2_xattr_find_entry() xattr in ocfs2 maybe 'non-indexed', which saved with additional space requested. It's better to check if the memory is out of bound before memcmp, although this possibility mainly comes from crafted poisonous images. | ||||
