CVSS v3.1 |
| Docker Desktop for Windows contains multiple incorrect permission assignment vulnerabilities in the installer's handling of the C:\ProgramData\DockerDesktop directory. The installer creates this directory without proper ownership verification, creating two exploitation scenarios:
Scenario 1 (Persistent Attack):
If a low-privileged attacker pre-creates C:\ProgramData\DockerDesktop before Docker Desktop installation, the attacker retains ownership of the directory even after the installer applies restrictive ACLs. At any time after installation completes, the attacker can modify the directory ACL (as the owner) and tamper with critical configuration files such as install-settings.json to specify a malicious credentialHelper, causing arbitrary code execution when any user runs Docker Desktop.
Scenario 2 (TOCTOU Attack):
During installation, there is a time-of-check-time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition between when the installer creates C:\ProgramData\DockerDesktop and when it sets secure ACLs. A low-privileged attacker actively monitoring for the installation can inject malicious files (such as install-settings.json) with attacker-controlled ACLs during this window, achieving the same code execution outcome. |
| Kubean is a cluster lifecycle management toolchain based on kubespray and other cluster LCM engine. The ClusterRole has `*` verbs of `*` resources. If a malicious user can access the worker node which has kubean's deployment, he/she can abuse these excessive permissions to do whatever he/she likes to the whole cluster, resulting in a cluster-level privilege escalation. This issue has been addressed in release version 0.18.0. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability. |
| A low privileged remote attacker may gain access to forbidden diagnostic data due to incorrect permission assignment for critical resources. |
| Improper permission settings for mobile applications (com.transsion.carlcare) may lead to user password and account security risks. |
| Hasleo Backup Suite Free v4.9.4 and before is vulnerable to Insecure Permissions via the File recovery function. |
| In Teltonika Networks RUTOS devices, running on versions 7.0 to 7.8 (excluding) and TSWOS devices running on versions 1.0 to 1.3 (excluding), due to incorrect permission handling a vulnerability exists which allows a lower privileged user with default permissions to access critical device resources via the API. |
| Incorrect permission assignment for critical resource issue exists in SS1 Ver.16.0.0.10 and earlier (Media version:16.0.0a and earlier), which may allow users who can log in to a client terminal to obtain root privileges. |
| Local File Inclusion vulnerability in pretix Widget WordPress plugin pretix-widget on Windows allows PHP Local File Inclusion. This issue affects pretix Widget WordPress plugin: from 1.0.0 through 1.0.5. |
| Multiple Western Telematic (WTI) products contain a web interface that is vulnerable to a local file inclusion attack (LFI), where any authenticated user has privileged access to files on the device's filesystem. |
| Overview
The product specifies permissions for a security-critical resource in a way that allows that resource to be read or modified by unintended actors. (CWE-732)
Description
Hitachi Vantara Pentaho Business Analytics Server prior to versions 10.2.0.2, including 9.3.x and 8.3.x, is installed with Karaf JMX beans enabled and accessible by default.
Impact
When the vulnerability is leveraged, a user with local execution privileges can access functionality exposed by Karaf beans contained in the product. |
| Insufficient permissions in the TeamViewer Patch & Asset Management component prior to version 24.12 on Windows allows a local authenticated user to delete arbitrary files. TeamViewer Patch & Asset Management is part of TeamViewer Remote Management. |
| A path traversal issue in ZipUtils.unzip and TarUtils.untar in Deep Java Library (DJL) on all platforms allows a bad actor to write files to arbitrary locations. |
| A vulnerability exists in Progress Flowmon versions prior 12.5.6 where certain system configuration files have incorrect file permissions, allowing a user with access to the default flowmon system user account used for SSH access to potentially escalate privileges to root during service initialization. |
| iStats contains an insecure XPC service that allows local, unprivileged users to escalate their privileges to root via command injection. This issue affects iStats: 7.10.4. |
| The com.glitter.caller.screen (aka iCaller, Caller Theme & Dialer) application through 1.1 for Android enables any application (with no permissions) to place phone calls without user interaction by sending a crafted intent via the com.glitter.caller.screen.DialerActivity component. |
| A vulnerability has been identified in SIRIUS 3RK3 Modular Safety System (MSS) (All versions), SIRIUS Safety Relays 3SK2 (All versions). The affected devices do not require authentication to access critical resources. An attacker with network access could retrieve sensitive information from certain data records, including obfuscated safety passwords. |
| Dependency-Track is a component analysis platform that allows organizations to identify and reduce risk in the software supply chain. Dependency-Track allows users with the `SYSTEM_CONFIGURATION` permission to customize notification templates. Templates are evaluated using the Pebble template engine. Pebble supports an `include` tag, which allows template authors to include the content of arbitrary files upon evaluation. Prior to version 4.12.6, users of Dependency-Track with the `SYSTEM_CONFIGURATION` permission can abuse the `include` tag by crafting notification templates that `include` sensitive local files, such as `/etc/passwd` or `/proc/1/environ`. By configuring such a template for a notification rule (aka "Alert"), and having it send notifications to a destination controlled by the actor, sensitive information may be leaked. The issue has been fixed in Dependency-Track 4.12.6. In fixed versions, the `include` tag can no longer be used. Usage of the tag will cause template evaluation to fail. As a workaround, avoid assigning the `SYSTEM_CONFIGURATION` permission to untrusted users. The `SYSTEM_CONFIGURATION` permission per default is only granted to members of the `Administrators` team. Assigning this permission to non-administrative users or teams is a security risk in itself, and highly discouraged. |
| The Marathon UI in DC/OS < 1.9.0 allows unauthenticated users to deploy arbitrary Docker containers. Due to improper restriction of volume mount configurations, attackers can deploy a container that mounts the host's root filesystem (/) with read/write privileges. When using a malicious Docker image, the attacker can write to /etc/cron.d/ on the host, achieving arbitrary code execution with root privileges. This impacts any system where the Docker daemon honors Marathon container configurations without policy enforcement. |
| An External Control of File Name or Path vulnerability in smb4k allowsl ocal users to perform a local root exploit via smb4k mounthelper if they can access and control the contents of a Samba shareThis issue affects smb4k: from ? before 4.0.5. |
| External control of file name or path issue exists in RICOH Streamline NX V3 PC Client versions 3.5.0 to 3.242.0. If an attacker sends a specially crafted request, arbitrary files in the file system can be overwritten with log data. |
